Dreadful light

Modern cameras are amazing, i took this photo in appalling light determined to recover the details from the shadows. I purpopsefully switched from auto iso which would have read 4500. Instead i set iso to 1000 and shutter to 1000, as it was blowing a hoolie! 
The original file is in extras.
I did change the sky, otherwise it would have looked just grey.
The result was a test of the cameras dynamic range. A pretty good job, considering
