A strange old day

I woke this morning feeling quite queasy with an upset stomach and put it down to eating too many sweet things yesterday at the party. I've been so good eating sensibly due to my marathon training - not even eating any chocolate or pinching the kid's chocolate over Easter - that I figured I deserved some sweet treats yesterday!
I really couldn't get going and felt that if I could just be sick I'd feel better, but of course I couldn't be sick. So I figured, as only a strong willed stubborn runner can, that I'd go and do a local 10km race! I thought that perhaps I was just being pathetic and a good fast run would sort me out. As the race wasn't until 3pm and I could jog to the start from my house as part of my warm up it'd be a crime not to do it. Hmmm, perhaps not such a good decision considering the temperature and what turned out to be very tough course. I did the race in a decent time (but no pb) and never really got into the race as my legs felt heavy and I had the constant feeling of needing to be sick throughout the race - oh dear! Anyhoo I met some nice people and have been invited along to a local club to train with some other people which I'll look into.

When I returned home we decided to take the kids for a cycle and ice cream in the park which was very pleasant, especially when we bumped into one of Dex's pals from the party yesterday which meant more excitement.
I was still feeling queasy, in fact I was feeling worse, and a friend suggested that I add a spoon of bicarbonate of soda to water as that would help settle my stomach. I had high hopes but unfortunately it made no difference :(
