More autumn leaves

It turned out to be better weather than I expected today so I spent several hours tidying the fruit cage and laying more cardboard to try to stop weeds sprouting in the spring. There was also a bonus of more autumn fruiting raspberries to be gathered.

While Bertie and I were out for our afternoon walk, I happened to glance up as I wandered under this beech tree and thought that the different coloured leaves made a pretty mosaic (or tricky jigsaw?).

I do like the last Saturday in October as it gives me an extra hour in the day and I know that from tomorrow the mornings will be a bit lighter for the next few weeks. (I dislike dark mornings.)
