Parakeet
Soggy day, gentle
pottering. Blue Ford Focus.
No gorgonzola.
Proper 'first day back from holiday' day. Took time to rest and recuperate. Ben and I had a walk mid morning, it was wet but warm enough. Had to fetch his new glasses from the opticians. Funny to see him back in glasses, feels more normal. I think I've mentioned the gist of the blue Ford Focus game :-/ so forgive me.. but if you hear a vehicle behind you, as you're walking on the pavement and before it becomes visible you have to declare, 'Blue Ford Focus'. It has never yet transpired that the vehicle declared has ACTUALLY been a Blue Ford Focus when it comes into view. Until today. Ben shouted, 'Blue Ford Focus' and it was indeed a Blue Ford Focus. Maybe you had to be there.. :-/ Basically some of these games are whatever gets Mr KCNQ2Haiku and I through the days!! On the way home from the opticians we were still calling, 'Blue Ford Focus' but he very sensibly recognised it was unlikely that we'd get 2 calls in one day, I thought he was going to tail off with the game but he then said, 'Imagine if I said Blue Ford Focus but what actually came was a large wedge of gorgonzola!' We agreed that would be weird.
Lunch was not notable, I spoke to my dad, roasted some vegetables and then Ben, Mr KCNQ2Haiku and I went to the lake for a walk. We were lucky with the weather and also the bird feeders had this little parakeet (photo). They're a common sight around here, many theories exist, mostly around escaped pets or aviaries being damaged in storms in the 1980s but we see them quite regularly. Anyway, home now. I defrosted some chicken for Ben's tea and started to cook it, turning it over half way through to find out it was monkfish.. oops. Lucky Ben! Mr KCNQ2Haiku has now smelled it and is asking when we are having monkfish, I may need a better freezer labelling system. Ah well, you can't win them all. Happy Saturday :-)
