Story Telling

A visit this morning to the newly opened 'Story Telling Gallery' in the Burrell Museum ..... Hercules, The Willow Pattern, Reynard the Fox but for me the most impressive was 'The Bible Tapestry' woven in Germany in 1550.

The tapestry depicts many scenes from the Old Testament. Some were easily recognised but others will need to be given more careful thought. 
I chose the scene showing Lot's wife being turned into a pillar of salt as she turned to look at the burning cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. The detail is quite amazing as the flames engulf the cities.
