Diary of an Edinburgher

Mobbed

Archie and I took a stroll round the block this morning, and what should we see, but a new pop-up shop on the pavement. The two young entrepreneurs called to me from afar, ‘Have you got any money?’ But alas, I didn’t, and they weren’t set up for Apple Pay… so I couldn’t buy the nice yellow ball for Archie. The young lady pointed out the nice helmet and pretty skirt, in case I’d missed them. She also had sweeties for customers who bought something.

After Archie had gone out with Elizabeth, we set off down to the museum to see the ‘Anatomy’ exhibition. Of course, a dreich Saturday is not the best time to go to the museum - everyone else had the same idea. It was MOBBED.

The exhibition itself was rather busy. Which was a shame, because there was a lot to see and read, so of course, people stood at each station for ages. There were original documents, original sketches by Leonardo da Vinci, gruesome models, and a real huge mort safe (from Airth) in which a coffin was locked to foil the body snatchers. The last part of the exhibition was encouraging us to sign up to donate our body to science…

Rugby match on this afternoon, the start of the Autumn Internationals. Yay!

Archie had a wee wander last night, but nothing frantic, no running around. We’re tending towards not starting him on life-long pills just yet.
