Hallowe'en - German Style

Something a little different today.  The weather is still so mild that a jacket is just not necessary.  I suggested a walk down to Schierstein to pick up some groceries - just for a change of scenery.

On the way we spotted quite a few gardens decorated for Hallowe'en - it has really taken off since I got here (not that it has anything to do with me).

The jug that the skull is sitting on is a very traditional thing for Hessen.  I think I've mentioned before it's called a Bembel and is used for serving Apfelwein (der Apfel = apple, der Wein = wine).
