The plan was to spend the day with J in his garden - last one before the winter. However he got in touch first thing to say he had a bad cold - and it was raining- so we cancelled. I called round later to drop off drugs, orange juice etc and some stuff I wanted rid of from my house. Thought he might have been exaggerating a bit but he was definitely ill. Called into a couple more carpet shops on the way home. Saw two I liked so will go into John Lewis (as suggested byLauraMuir) in the week and then make a decision.
Sun had come out when I got home so spent a couple of hours moving pots around and doing some planting to try to cheer up the entrance to my back door for the autumn and winter.
