Witch Ball

I was inspired to take a photo of our witch ball by Evolybab's blip from yesterday.  We were given ours by a good friend when we moved into our house in 1998 and it has hung in our kitchen window ever since.

"A witch ball is a hollow sphere of glass. Historically, witch balls were hung in cottage windows in 17th and 18th century England to ward off evil spirits, witches, evil spells, ill fortune and bad spirits."

Hopefully it will work its magic in the next few days, it being Halloween!  Thanks for the inspiration Carol.
