Reflections

Sunday was not as clement as Saturday but thankfully it only rained in spurts.

International Woman of Mystery (IWM) and I decided it was time for some walking. So naturally we got in the car to drive to a pier to get in a boat to get to the other side and then we walked. About 8 miles in one stretch, about 12 in total for the day.

Needless to say we felt triumphant and in need of refreshment (in that order) so ambled around Ambleside and eventually found that elusive cup of tea. And chips. In that order.

Ambleside and Grasmere have changed over the years. Mind you, it has been a long time since I was in the area. I've never seen so many outdoor clothing outfitters in one place, not even the Rockies. Thankfully IWM and I looked the part.

I felt spoilt for choice today so have put some photos on the other place.

We returned to our digs and settled in to watch the last episode of Endeavour. I'm going to miss that young man.

Why this photo? Well, I liked the steps initially (I like steps that lead into water) but when I saw it, the reflection grabbed my attention; the starkness of the tree versus its fuzzy reflection. It reminds me of that Zen saying about how we cannot see our reflection in running water, only in still water.

It's good to be still every so often.
