The Plested’s
Backblip
We were up early ready for our trip South. Mike dropped me at the bus stop with the bags at 7.30am.It was still dark, foggy and mild .A little Robin kept me company until Mike walked back down the hill.
The bus was a little bit late and the times on the bus timetable at the stop differed from those online so no one was sure what time it was meant to arrive.
A good journey into Inverness although people nearly missed their stop as it was so foggy you could not tell where you were.
We had a full breakfast in Charlie’s cafe knowing we would not get chance to eat anything until tonight. Another bus to the airport and then onto the plane. The flight was delayed for a hour as we had to wait for a gap in the fog, you could not even see the end of the wing ! So as soon as there was 25 metres of sight we were off :)
Picked up the hire car at Luton , a nice sporty Golf.On to Mike’s Mum and Dads and then a quick turn around in Rickmansworth and out for a meal with Mike’s brothers and wife’s, A lovely evening celebrating Pete’s birthday. I had a gots cheese tart with caramelised onions and beetroot for pudding I had lemon tart with pistachio icecream and raspberries.
We had a quick drink in The feathers before returning to the Premier Inn ready for a good sleep. Once the fireworks had finished we slept well ;)
