A great day

An Impish Quilters sewing day, with a workshop included. The item that I made is not finished yet so it will be blipped another day. I managed to survived the 5hr session, which was great, but needed a nap to see me through until the evening session.

Dinner was a hurried affair so that we were ready to watch the Astro-Chat lecture from Lincoln Uni. Voyagers1 and 2: where are they now? These lectures are always good but this one was even more fascinating than ever. The spacecraft were launched in 1977 and are still transmitting information to date. How the 1970’s technology is still functioning after all this time is amazing. 

They each have a phonograph record on board which contain sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth. I’ve googled the info and will investigate the contents.
