I've stolen the Stolon.
The rogue invader ( Thornless Blackite {Bramble}) I thought of giving a more permanent homed than befits the weed it currently is.  To this end I anchored one of its trailing-in-the-air "Vines" at ground level.  It looks like it's behaved as IT wanted not as I hoped.  
i.e. rather than rooting at point of soil contact it crept onward and appears to want to root at its tip, as is usual in the wild.  Hopefully by next year, early, I'll be able to remove the Parent weed and cultivate its offspring.
