Yew Tree Tarn, Coniston

It’s more than two weeks since my last tarn walk so with improving weather in the morning I had an early lunch and left the decorator to continue painting the woodwork.

It would have been easy to park by the tarn, walk a few yards, take a photo and tick the tarn off the list. Instead I walked along the west side of the tarn, looped back on the higher path which comes out at Yew Tree farm and then back near the road.

There was a lot of paddling where footpaths had turned into streams. My phone recorded just two miles. It felt like more.
