After a terrifying experience last week when I was driving to a doctor's appointment, I went to my eye doctor to hopefully have him tell me I wasn't going blind.  He assured me I wasn't losing my sight but had a minor inflammation in my right eye.   About 10 years ago I had a retinal tear and I'm always diligent about a yearly exam to make sure the correction is still in place.  My problem seems to be extreme dry eye which is probably what caused the scare.  I've always had very light-sensitive eyes and I have to have serious dark glasses.  When I was headed to the doctor I was driving directly into the sun and I couldn't see at all.  It was very scary because I kept trying to close my eyes which is not recommended when driving.  

The crisis is over and I have to be more conscientious about putting drops in my eyes every day, doctor's orders.  I also ordered a new pair of sunglasses which are bigger and darker than the ones I have now, also more expensive, of course.  

They're the 5th down in the center row.  The doctor said they looked like a pair that JackieO would wear, which definitely was not my goal, but they are big and comfortable so I think they'll work.
