Mrs. Robin

We have had extremely dry weather conditions for some time now. There is rain predicted mid-week, but it's needed now. Mrs. Robin really must have mud for her nest building plans. I had to give her a hand, well, an old enamel pie plate filled with a mixture of muddy slurry and pine needles. She has been a steady customer since I put the plate out and you can imagine the smile on my bird whisperer's face.

The usual suspects are returning, the vocal House Wren , a handsome male Towhee and the ever curious garden friend, the Catbird. Last year my male hummingbird, Mr. Sharpie, arrived today, no sign of him yet, he was an old boy, but I'm still hopeful.
