CHALLENGE

OK this is real confession time. Please read on. . .

This morning we were on car parking duty at a charity event in Driffield, East Yorkshire. Apparently last year about 2000 people attended. Today, given the wonderful sunshine, there must have been over 7000. Cars everywhere !

This was followed by singing with the Choir for 25 minutes to entertain everyone and then a very quick escape. We did hope to buy an ice cream to cool off, but the queues were very long. Maurice had the idea of calling at the nearest shop on the way back home. Big mistake. Ice creams came in boxes of three. Then Maurice hit on his big idea - buy two packs and we could eat 3 each !!! Ouch ! They were delicious - but now I feel the need to do something else.

This image is NOT the War of the Roses BUT the Way of the Roses - a 170 mile challenging cycle route from Morecombe in Lancashire to Bridlington in East Yorkshire.

This is the final signpost on arrival in Bridlington. Full details here - Can anyone lend me a bike ?
Congratulations to all the Guernsey Blippers - Guernsey FC gained promotion again today, despite playing 20 games in 36 days. Better than Boro then.
