Sewing
One of the things I was looking forward to doing in these few days down with the grandchildren was to teach them how a sewing machine worked. Emily had wanted a toy machine for Christmas but that seemed silly when she could learn to use the real thing.
This one used to belong to her Greataunt, it was a joy to see her learning the foot pressure to make it sew. I'd bought some unicorn fabric and brought a cushion pad down with me so she could have something for her room.
Daniel preferred to be outside playing football - no sewing for him!
We had a wander up to a field to throw a Frisby around. It wasn't long before it got blown off course and landed in a tree. We had to go back with tape and lengths of garden cane to poke it out. Later in the day, the same thing happened again when Dan was out with his friends but by the time he and his dad went back to retrieve it, it had been taken!
