Reflections on a Seaside Sunset

When both of us arrived home late this afternoon, we knew we wanted to escape and grab a change of scenery. So for date night we headed west on the 91 Freeway toward Orange County and the coastline. We discussed as we drove whether we should go to Laguna Beach or Balboa. We chose one of our favorite locations, Balboa Island in Newport Beach, because it is such a fabulous place to walk.

We went to a little open air Italian restaurant and sat in a half-booth (only one bench) that faced a large open window. We shared a salad and ordered pasta. As usual, I brought half of mine home.

Once we finished eating, we went back to the car to get Bob dog and then walked around Little Balboa Island, which is just over a canal from the main island. We looked at lots of flowers and ferns and houses and pets and boats.

We arrived back home and I downloaded 102 photos clicked today. The last one is today's winning blip. I hope you like it. It was taken while we're standing on the narrow bridge the leads from the little island back to the big island (which is really quite small, but has big price tags--at least it does if you're looking at real estate).

It's been a great date night. We're now on the eve of Memorial Day Weekend here in the States. We hope everyone has a great Friday.
