Not very inspired but it has been a difficult day. 

Tried to make an online payment via my debit card.  Bank wanted me to give the authorisation code from my app.  But I don't have the app!

Catch 22 or so it seems. 

Never mind I can make the payment by bank transfer.  All done no problem.  Except when I check the account no payment has been made. Rang the bank, they say "well we think no payment has been made. Best wait for 24 hours and check again."

Grief, fortunately the payment is not urgent and I will probably stay out of jail.  

I'm off for a stiff drink. G&T I think.
