Domino Effect

This day started like every day lately, with work and hoping for a walk in the beautiful sunshine outside.

Then I got a call. Next Tuesday, builders will install new roof windows in my office. I now have four days (minus the time when I am not at home) to make room, so they can work. I’ll have to dismantle my desk, take it - plus chairs, computer, screens and printer - to another room, and clear out as much furniture as possible, including  several shelves with files and books.

So, instead of going for my walk, I started taking files out and carry them downstairs.

Then I realised: I could use this occasion to get rid of all the bookkeeping stuff that’s older than 10 years; and I started sorting through the folders. Three hours later, our paper recycling bin has become much heavier, and the pile of files much smaller.
