Red Raiders

Middle grandson has taken an interest in playing the American version of rugby. Third from left, Micah readying himself for a kick off. He has been playing a full part in the School B team and as a first year in Junior High that’s a pretty good achievement but here he is playing mainly special teams and defense on the A team. Red Raiders is the school sports team moniker by the way. They won 13 - 6 and in typical US football fashion we spent 2 hours as the temperature fell gradually whilst they spent a total of 32 minutes actually doing anything on the field. At least there weren’t an hour and half of adverts in between plays as tends to happen on the professional televised version. I used to enjoy the UK highlights of the NFL but now find the game rather boring - but good to support Micah once we worked out which one he was under his helmet!
