Today’s walk took us to the village of Chawton to visit Jane Austen’s home of eight years, then a little further along the country road to Chawton House, the estate  belonging to her brother.
A cream tea with clotted cream was enjoyed before visiting St Nicholas Church, also part of the estate, where Jane’s mother and sister are interred
