Trip Planning

For next year, with guidebooks we have from the last time we were in Spain (over 20 years ago), supplemented by what we find on the web. Everything has changed of course, and who knows what things will be like next year. But the ancient ruins are still there.

Norman Gunston, the Australian comic, once went from street to street in London with a Monopoly Board, asking people how to get from places like Trafalgar Square to Old Kent Road.

My idea of fun would be to travel with an ancient Baedeker (from the 1950s, say), and see how places have changed in a lifetime.
