infrared gum

there's a whole lot of big old red gum eucalyptus trees along the creek in Saddleworth. I found one yesterday that looks particularly muscular. I wasn't happy with the shot I took then, so I went back today to retake it.
I went the extra yard, using the tripod and manual focusing. 
The last few days have been so dreary weather-wise that the light was exactly the same. I've placed an infrared filter/profile on it in editing because I like the way it works in this image. Usually I don't muck around with filters in my images, but I think this works. And it pleased me.
