Phew!
... and I thought yesterday was a busy day at the Cafe! A sunset stroll with Meg was a good antidote. Here's the view across the fields towards Tywyn, the rails heading towards Cynfal bridge under the setting sun.
I had been re-routed to Aber in a sickness related staff reshuffle. It meant an early start to open up and get food prepped, something that was challenged by yesterday's busy-ness leaving us waiting on deliveries which only arrived at noon. The trains were all effectively full, even after the set was strengthened with an extra coach. With only two of us it was always going to be an uphill struggle but the Talyllyn family has many members and today the Tracksiders family group were working at Aber. Liz, who's both a Tracksider parent and the railway's Safety Officer, was pressganged to help out while the trains were in the station. Without her extra pair of hands we could not have served everyone in the time allowed by the timetable. Even then, when I remarked "this is fun" to Carys, she begged to differ!! It was fun, of the kind that's fun when you look back having survived. Another Tracksider parent helped by hoovering the cafe for us as we washed, cleaned and put away but I was still an hour late finishing after cashing up and ordering food to replenish our much depleted stocks.
Home to feeding Katie who much enjoyed the last portion of C's delicious offering from yesterday. Katie's well again and we're all pleased to have her back in town :-) Then I met Tilda at the station as she's coming to stay for a few days. We quickly adjourned to Jamie's where he had food in his slow cooker for the three of us to share.
Tomorrow I get to do it all again at work with wheelchair basketball for afters :-)
