Katoomba Sky
I popped up to the viewing platform at the Cultural Centre and thought the sky was interesting, but my photos weren't.
I turned to go and thought this view a considerable improvement.
The building is the rear of the beautiful Carrington Hotel and the chimney is part of it.
This brick chimney stack dominates the skyline around Katoomba. It is part of the old power house and was built in 1912. Until around 1950 it provided power to the whole of the upper Blue Mountains. It's octagonal and six bricks thick with around 46,000 bricks used in its construction.
Thanks for hosting Bob.
