Alien Lavender

Noticed this weird flower stem growing in the centre of my Lavender ...... never seen anything like this!

They usually have a single flower on each stem ...... this one seems to have four buds appearing on the one stem .... very strange!

Has anyone else seen this before?

This is a genuine photo ..... just a crop & I have altered the colour as an entry for Mono Monday ... this week's theme being Monochrome but not B&W :-)
