Stop staring

I took the big lens out for a wander this morning.  I got a shot at a red kite directly overhead, but I still haven't managed to keep the camera still enough to get a sharp picture.  It's more likely to be my balance that's the issue.

The fieldfare and redwings are back.  I can hear them chuntering in the shrubbery, but I need more patience to stand around and wait for them to pop their heads out.

This green woodpecker seemed quite annoyed to see me whilst it was busily digging in the playing field.

There's the first competition of the season at camera club tonight, which is always interesting.  The judge is a landscape specialist, so I'll be curious to see how he marks my macro shots.
