Live at the Palladium!!
Off on that 9:30 LNER out of Edinburgh to Kings Cross. Well, that was the plan. It was cancelled. Amazingly we found about the only two unbooked seats on the 10:00 and got our backsides on them before anyone else could. Mobbed it was.
So, London, and who was the first person we saw? Ken Livingstone! Yup, sitting with his old cronies outside Cafe Nero across from our accommodation. Down town for a beer and who does the SK espy? Adam Driver, she says. It was just a bloke with a big nose. Her own was clearly out of joint from my celeb spotting.
Bob! What a show! The bulk of the numbers are from Rough & Rowdy ways (I now have the t-shirt!) but they suit him well and the band was cracking. He even danced out from behind the piano and into the limelight like a frail old marionette. And at the end, he blew that harmonica as he’s done for these past seven decades. Not a dry eye, I’ll tell you. Certainly not next to me.
