Another social day
We went for a walk after breakfast, then just had time to shower and change before setting off for Howick to meet a friend for lunch. It’s a public holiday (bank holiday) here for Labour Day, so the café we’d planned to go to was closed. However, we found one just down the road, called Café Paris, and spent a very pleasant couple of hours eating and chatting. Afterwards we promenaded up and down the street admiring the various shops before returning to our car. Howick is a lovely village with a nice community feel to it.
On the way home we called in to say hello to my sister and brother-in-law, who have downsized and spent the last few months renovating their “new” home. It’s looking very nice, but still bare, as they have only just started unpacking. We spent a pleasant couple of hours with them, also, enjoying a drink and a chat.
Back home, we popped three pies into the oven that we purchased from the Parnell Farmer’s Market on Saturday. When they were hot we rushed across to Mum’s and had supper with her, albeit later than she normally likes to eat.
The blip is of the interior of the Café Paris.
