Mono Monday . . . Monochrome . . . Green
I tried a lot of things and didn't like any of them really. I wanted some sunlight to light up the colours and provide contrasts. It was overcast all day so I have settled on a crop of the trees on my hill.
Earlier this evening we into Nelson to a book launch by an acquaintance. He is a publisher and a keen outdoors man. The forester had already bought the book but now it is signed by the author. Maybe that will make it more valuable when our son and daughter have to dispose of all our books :-) A woman author facilitated him talking about the book and then there were questions from the floor. I had been recommended to read it and after hearing him speak I will. He spoke about what it means to be a New Zealander in our landscape and although he has travelled overseas he has lived all his life in Nelson. He isn't apologetic about that. Everything he needs is here. It is a memoir that he wrote for his two sons so they would know his back story. He own father died when he was three and so he didn't grow up knowing his Dad's story. He did pay a fine tribute to his mother who raised six children on her own.
The book is Bushline by Robbie Burton. New Zealanders will know Potton Burton Publishing. Craig Potton is a fine photographer.
