Afternoon Tea
After yesterday’s lovely weather we woke to torrential rain this morning.
Such a shame really as we were going out for afternoon tea to the “Grinkle Park Hotel” near Saltburn, the tea was a Christmas present from a lovely friend.
On arrival at the hotel we were taken to the bar area to wait for our table, just time for a little aperitif .
Our waitress then escorted us into a lovely room overlooking the gardens, we duly ordered our tea and a couple of glasses of champagne. We were well entertained by a couple of male pheasants strutting their stuff and some squirrels darting back and forward across the lawn.
After our tea (that was delicious by the way) we had a walk around the grounds (by this time the rain had cleared) where we came across what looked like a mushroom forest,
All in all a very relaxing day.
