Brunswick Town
We visited what was once a bustling business center and commerce port in North Carolina in the 1670s. Being a New Englander, and pretty centric to that area, I didn't realize NC was one of the original colonies. At any rate Brunswick Town was about 20 miles from Wilmington and they were the bustling commerce center while Wilmington was still a sleepy little village - The Brunswick River was wider and deeper at this point than the Cape Fear in Wilmington. This all 10 years before the Revolutionary War and all the battles in and around Boston. Well, who knew?
In this photo, we're making candles. A beautiful fall day and an interesting way to see what life was like over 300 years ago in this southern town.
Later we went to the Vegan Festival in Wilmington and then finally home to have dinner and put our walking feet up.
