PINKTOBER - DAY 22 - RAKING UP THE LEAVES

Hello Lovely Blippers,

Taz here - I’ve been with the Silly Saturday Gang for a few weeks now and am beginning to settle down - I think they like me because today they gave me a silly pink hat to wear out into the garden - but it’s all for the good of the cause and JH Ted said that I could write the journal for today - YAY!

When we knew what the HCBs were planning for today, we decided we would go out and give Mr. HCB a hand to rake up all the leaves.  These are from the Council trees outside their fence - there are thousands of them and also thousands of little sycamore seedheads - so Mr. HCB will have his work cut out trying to make sure they don’t grow into sycamore trees.  He said that his Dad used to make leaf mould from all the leaves he collected, but Mr. HCB says they will go into the green Council bin so that they can be made into compost by them - well that’s only fair since the leaves, strictly speaking, belong to the Council!

We had a great time, but had to be very careful we didn’t fall into the pond - thankfully that is covered with some wire mesh, but we noticed there are still some leaves in there.  I overheard Mr. HCB telling Mrs. HCB that if he pulls leaves out of the pond, then they need to be left on the side so that if there are any little creatures in amongst the leaves, they can crawl back into the pond.  Perhaps we had better keep any eye out for any and point them in the right direction.  We know it’s Silly Saturday, but we think that Admirer would be very happy to hear that we are helping others - and that’s not really silly, is it?

Froggy and Hoggy are both wearing pink hats and Mrs. HCB said you all know what to do during Pinktober - it’s really easy, even I could do it - you just click on this LINK and then click again so that those who cannot afford to pay for a mammogram can have a free one - easy peasy, lemon squeezy, dontchathink?
