Sweet Bliss

A fun day with my best Blip Buddy Mary Jo shopping in Bellingham and just having a nice relaxing day ending with treats at the local cake shop.  We had cookies and tea since we both feared that the cake slices would be too rich in every sense of the word.

On our way out, we did some math and figured out that these cakes, which are indeed spectacular, appeared to be divided into 12 slices at $7.50 a slice, making the whole cake upwards of $90.00.  We didn't even want to think of the calories per slice.

For instance, the cake on the upper shelf at the very far left is a Chocolate Stout cake which translates to chocolate cake made with Scotch ale and Irish creme frosting.  The one on the far right is a mixed berry cake which would have been my choice had I wanted to go into a sugar coma.  The bottom shelf is reserved for cheesecakes which we didn't even look at.

It was a fun day.  I came home with a new dress that I bought with the gift certificate Mary Jo had given me for my birthday.  We had great conversations with a number of people along the way.  Mary Jo is the people person I would like to be and being with her means you engage with all sorts of interesting people. The word stranger is not in her vocabulary.  I'm hoping some of that rubs off on me but I may be too old to change.

Next week we're taking our cameras out to one of our beautiful parks and doing some pregnancy pictures for my grandson and his wife.  Their baby is due in February.  We were hoping to catch the fall foliage but we may be a little late since now we have rain and the leaves are rapidly falling.  I'm sure we'll get something nice and I know we'll have fun.
