Skunk cabbage

My mum and dad are here for the weekend so we were looking for somewhere to go that was relatively flat and easy to walk round. I'd heard lots of good reports about Golden Acre Park, so we decided we would give it a go. We took a picnic in the hope that the weather came out sunny and we weren't disappointed. The park was better than I expected and it was wonderful to see so many people out and about and enjoying themselves. There were lots of birds and flowers and ferns and dogs, ( saw two beautiful Beagles) but out of the few photos I took, this one of the skunk cabbage stands out.

They are wonderful looking but gosh they do smell!
