The Dance

I needed a tooth repaired and my wonderful dentist's office is right across the street from Soulliere Pond (aka Home Depot's water retention pond). I had my camera with me so went to take a look. OMG! I've never seen so many Wood Storks in one location! Over 300 for a rough estimate! Lot's of other wading birds as well, Great Egrets (like the pair 'dancing' above), Little Egrets, Snowy Egrets, lots of Little Blue Herons and Tricolored Herons. Turkey Vultures and Muscovy Ducks congregated on the shore. Do take a look at the collage in the *extra...The water was very shallow so the birds were dispersed across the pond. I'll most likely head back there tomorrow...A Bird Photographer's Delight!
