Mr Pheasant?
Today's the day .......................... for camouflage
Mr Pheasant is back - or at least I don't know if it's the Mr Pheasant from last year - but a pheasant has appeared in the garden this week. He looks rather wary and he doesn't hang about for long - but then that's what he always did.
I always marvel at the wonderful colours of a male pheasant. You really would wonder why they haven't developed feathers that would camouflage them, especially at this time of the year when lots of people are taking potshots at them? That is until you look at them closely and realise that they blend in beautifully with the surrounding autumnal vegetation.
So clever, that .....................
