Tourists in Iceland
We had a very nice day, despite a rather dull weather. After our morning swim and breakfast, we drove to Sólheimar eco-village (via the route to Þingvellir national park, but we didn't stop there this time). It was about 1,5 hours drive. We had lunch at Sólheimar restaurant, took a walk and visited their local store that sells products and beautiful artwork made by the residents.
Then we sat us in the car again and drove a different route back home with some stops on the way. The first one in Selfoss, to take a look at their brand new town centre. Thy have built beautiful and colourful new buildings that are replicas of old buildings, and even though it felt a bit as if I was on a movie set it is such an uplift for the town. Then we continued our trip, with some photography stops on the way. The longest one at Grænavatn (the green lake) in Reykjanes peninsula. It was raining but it was so refreshing to be out in the rain.
