Musée Clémenceau
Full day at the BnF and then I walked from the apartment to a fantastic lecture by Elizabeth Emery at the Musée Clémenceau, in Clémenceau's former apartment at 8, rue Benjamin Franklin. This was a new museum for me, and a really lovely one. In this photo you can see Clémenceau's impressive desk, books and art. The lecture was followed by a drink in the garden, under a huge "marronnier" (chestnut tree) that Clémenceau had written about enjoying himself (we learned in the talk). Nice conversation there too.
Meanwhile, J went for a run around the Champ de Mars this afternoon and met with our landlady this morning. He is also looking in to arrangements for a trip we'll take with some friends next week. Grey skies, but there was no rain here today.
