First fire of the season .

We like to set the fire alight in the daytime and then sit by it while day fades into night . Last year a Blackbird would sing it’s beautiful evensong as it marked its territory. No bird song was heard tonight , maybe next time .
Not feeling one hundred percent again , it’s been a week now . I did a covid test but it was negative .
The weather was glorious for October and most of the day was spent on “the land.” I’ve planted bulbs , green manure crops and also sieved soil . Dave, meanwhile , has built another log store . This time from old oak flooring which he was given about 9 years ago .
