A grand day out in the Borders
Mr hazelh and I headed south this morning for a fabulous day in the Borders.
Just before we set off for Dawyck Botanic Garden, we messaged our wonderful friend nadinepierce to see if she would like to meet us there for a wee wander round/wonder at the trees, then lunch à trois. To our delight, nadinepierce was able to leave her work for a couple of hours to join us. My main blip is of one of the many beautiful autumnal vistas currently on display in the garden. Mr hazelh took the fun extra of me with nadinepierce under one of the garden's amazing acers. nadinepierce's own blip for today shows me with Mr hazelh in regal pose heading towards the same tree.
After lunch, Mr hazelh and I drove on to Galashiels to visit the Great Tapestry of Scotland. This is an extraordinary piece of work, and one that we couldn't possibly 'consume' in a single afternoon. For these reasons, I bought the exhibition book. This includes a photograph of each panel and its accompanying narrative. I wonder if walkingMarj's mother has ever seen this? She would love it. I have included a segment of one of the more amusing pieces as my second extra.
We are rather pooped after all this excitement in a single day. It feels like we have been on holiday!
Exercise today: walking (11,165 steps).
