Pulteriaita

Next to my Tuesdays' water exercise venue is a protected old boulder fence called pulteriaita. The fence was built to the border of Pirkkala and Tampere (from Pyhäjärvi over the Pispala esker to Näsijärvi) in 1905-1910. Before the boulder fence there was a wooden round pole fence. There was only one passing place, and it was forbidden to climb over the fence. In 1937 Pispala was connected to Tampere and the boulder fence became useless. Nowadays there is about 100 meter of fence left.
