Silver/golden birch

A glorious day, great for putting down the bark we bought yesterday as a mulch and weed suppressant. 
I popped up to the Churchyard to get a shot of the silver birch before the next few days weather blows the leaves off it. (best viewed against black)
In extras, a pigeon chick. This was taken two days ago but sadly I found it dead in the garden today. It could fly but was tending to sit around the grass and we were in fear of a cat or kite getting it. It looked very peaceful today and in memory of its short life it now has a place in my journal.
