Newhaven Harbour

I cycled recreationally this afternoon. Only for about 40 minutes and only about 5 miles but it represents my longest ride so far since getting back on a bike. From Bellevue through the the Scotland Street tunnel and along the old train track path to Newhaven. Stop for a picture. Back up along the Water of Leith Walkway until Powderhall and then back up to Bellevue. Very invigorating it was too. My bottle of water even came in handy half way.

Cooked much Indian food and ate it, which was nice.

This morning's coding exercise involved consuming the Weather Underground API, after the obligatory sign-up process. Very easy to use in both PHP and Javascript with more weather, astronomical and generally sky related information available through the many commands. My plan is to subtly alter the style of my website depending on the time of the day and the current weather in Edinburgh. But given what is in the feeds from their API I could also have chosen the phase of the moon or the turning of the tides. so I might end up with a very strangely styled website if I'm not careful. Or generative art, one of the two.
