Great Northern Railroad "Circus " Boxcars
In 1956, the Great Northern Railroad decided to change the colors of their boxcars. So they painted up 10 individual 40 foot boxcars in various colors and Heralds. Photos were taken of each and the employees got to vote on the one they liked the best. I don't know which won, but I have several cars in many of these colors.
This little train is made up of the Circus cars on my N scale layout on my blip today.
Years ago, MicroTrains from Oregon made and sold over a 10 month period each of the cars - one a month. They became a very hot collection item and their value went crazy up - like BitCoin I guess. Any way I collected them but I like to run the stuff - not have it set aside - so I would assume the value is back where it should be.
Now that the wood is drying from staining and painting, I can get going on the next structure - the beer barrel manufacture..
