Retail therapy

Met up with another K yesterday for a bit of retail therapy - she's had such a tough start to 2013 and, somehow, we've not managed to see each other since last November. That'll be why then eh.

I suggested having a wander round the new Trinity shopping centre so we found the an entrance and tootled in. I don't think either of us were particularly impressed - we seemed to spend hours in there, walking round and round but not really going anywhere and it felt like we spent half our time on one escalator or another, trying to figure out where we were and what floor we were on. Then we'd find the an exit and walk along a bit, only to find ourselves heading for another flippin' entrance. I'm sure there's a plan to it, a logical layout, but without a map and a compass we couldn't figure out what it was. We even asked for help from some teenage boys who seemed slightly less confused than we were... The only thing I liked about it really was this sculpture (though I'm not sure what's supposed to be draped over the horse's back - a sack of spuds?) and another one which may or may not have been near an entrance. Or was it an exit...

Escaped to the much nice Victoria Quarter and had a nice relaxing coffee in nearby Debenhams - more so poor Katy could have a drink to lubricate her somewhat rusty vocal cords!

A surprisingly sober day - though I probably shouldn't have days like my last one in Leeds at my age - and the 4.25 bus home. Despite the soberness, I've still no idea what I did last night!

I do know I was woken by thumping music at 6.25 this morning and, just for a moment, had a horrible flashback to the house I moved from last year. Fortunately it wasn't my neighbours, just noise brought to me on the breeze, but I was sorely tempted to go and find the source and tell them that I'd moved here to get away from all that nonsense! Given the early hour and my state of undress, I settled for closing the windows...
