Shapinsay

We had a bit of lazy day today. Everyone was quite tired and it was a showery morning. After lunch we headed down to the village where we met my sister-in-law's brother and their family. They've moved to Shapinsay recently and main reason for the holiday is to visit them. Unfortunately they've all just had covid and are still recovering so we had decided to just meet them outside today.

We met by the village shop, which is right on the shore and is a well known hang out for the local seals. And indeed they were there, quite close to the shore and very unconcerned by us. Blip is taken at the shore by the shop. Extras of the seals.

After admiring the seals, a short walk to the pier and a foray into the village shop, we headed to my sister-in-law's brother's house to meet and admire their chickens! They are quite a new acquisition and very cute and friendly.

The rest of the day was spent relaxing in our cottage.
