One last day
Started in a deeply foggy little coastal town where we left early in the morning. Already yesterday we had tried to explore old town of Eureka a bit but were „thrown back“ by the lonely streets , the only people we encountered were totally drugged people. We were able to find a nice restaurant for dinner and enjoyed our meal. We did choose to take a taxi back to the hotel, the streets did not seem safe at night. So many people on drugs get really aggressive and loud, even if they are fighting imaginary enemies.
Before leaving town we had to visit the beautiful Victorian Carson Mansion because of its name. As you can read in the Wikipedia article, it is named after its builder and owner who originally came from New Brunswick, Canada , just as the grandfather of my husband.
Picture in the extras.
Many hours later we reached Shore Acres near Coos Bay which we , for once hoped to explore without our dog ( no dogs allowed there) but there wasn’t much to be seen: all the dahlias had already been taken out and the roses were nearly cut back to the ground. So we rested a bit in our Hotelroom after an early dinner in Charleston , which had good food but the presentation was the worst I have ever seen in my life.
A walk in downtown Coosbay to a very nice place for coffee and dessert was a good end of the day.
Thank you all for your so nice response to yesterday’s posting. It feels so good to have so many loyal wonderful friends all over the world!
